Learning in Freedom

Welcome to Learning in Freedom, a blog all about the learning adventures (and mishaps) of the Allen family. My four children are unschooled, following their interests and passions every day and living the lives of their choosing. The purpose of this blog is to share our every day lives (and my not-so-humble opinons) with anyone interested in stopping by. We hope this will give a glimpse of how natural learning unfolds from day to day......

Karma?

I was awakened this morning to the buzz of a damned FLY?? It would NOT go away. I kept thinking "I saved one of your kind, now leave me in peace".
Irony is an interesting thing, isn't it?

You probably saved its mother. Maybe she was anxious to move on to some higher form, and you did her a disservice. Maybe she had no other form of birth control than to bother someone until they liberated her soul, but you condemned her to a moment of egg-laying (can't say "motherhood" or "fly-rearing"). I have sent many cockroaches to their next existence, and as a result their offspring aren't in my bedroom.
